    A Message from the Pastor

“Let the WORD do the WORK”

    “Neither have I gone back from the commandments of His lips;

I have esteemed the WORDS of His mouth more than my necessary food.”

    Job 23:12

“If ye abide in me, and my WORDS abide in you, ye shall

ask what you will, and it shall be done unto you.”

    St. John 15:7

The theme at Hope for You Family Life and Worship Center for 2010 is “Let the Word Do the Work.”  Those six words are very powerful and speak to the core of our soul in our pursuit of God.  I don’t think we really take to heart the power that is in the word of God and this power is for each and everyone of us.  The Old Testament Patriarch Job recognized the power of the WORD and he paid strict attention to the commandments of God, so he decided that the WORD of God was to be treasured more than his daily appetite for food.  Everything else became secondary and Job’s primary focus was God’s WORD.  Job let the WORD do the WORK for him, which resulted in him receiving double blessings for everything that the Lord allowed the Devil to take from him.  The WORD had to WORK for Job for him to have the testimony of “though He slay me, yet will I trust in Him.” (Job 13:15).  When we let the WORD do the WORK we can reap the benefits of Jesus’ discourse about Him being the true vine in St. John 15.  “You shall ask what you will and it shall be done unto you.”  When we allow the WORD to do the WORK, we release unlimited power in our lives for God to do miraculous things for us.  The Apostle Peter put it so distinctly in I Peter 1:8 “For if these things (WORD) be in you, and abound (WORK), they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.”  Peter further emphasizes the need for letting the WORD do the WORK in verse 10 “Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: (Bishop Dempsey’s emphasis – your calling is the WORD and your election is the WORK) for if you do these things, ye shall NEVER FALL.”  There is a place in God where you can get and you will NEVER FALL (that’s WORD).  That’s not Bishop’s word that is GOD”S WORD.  Let the WORD do the WORK!  May God richly bless you throughout this year and may you pursue a deeper determination to let the WORD do the WORK.  Maranatha!!!

    Four Ingredients of Wisdom

    1.  Always do your best.   Your best will change from moment, as it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to when you are sick.   In all circumstances simply do your best, and you will avoid self judgment, self abuse and regret.

    2.  Be impeccable with your words.  Always speak with integrity and say only what you mean.  Avoid using words to speak against yourself or to gossip about others.  Use the power of your words in the direction of truth and love.

    3.  Dont take things personally.  Remember, whatever others do it is not because of you.  What others say or do is a projection of their own reality and their own dreams.  When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you wont be the victim of needless suffering.

    4.  Dont make assumptions.  Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want.  Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama.  With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.

    WE BELIEVE

in the oneness of God who is infinite in power, holy in nature, excellence

and purpose as well as omnipresent and omniscient.
WE BELIEVE further that he was revealed to us as father in creation (God) as son in redemption (Jesus) and as holy spirit in his grace that never leaves those who trust in him.
WE BELIEVE that in Jesus dwelleth all fullness of the God head bodily, for it is pleased the father that in him should all the fullness dwell.
WE BELIEVE in the Virgin Birth that Jesus was both Human and Divine.  He was  manifested in the flesh.
WE BELIEVE in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus.
WE BELIEVE that he ascended on-high and his spirit, the Holy Ghost, which was poured out at Jerusalem over 1900 years ago, and it is this same spirit that is filling the heats of those who diligently seek him today.
WE BELIEVE in water baptism by complete immersion in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and in the baptism of the Holy Ghost, speaking in other tongues as the spirit gives utterance, his constitutes the New Birth.
WE BELIEVE in the holy sacrificial life.
